Can you see your own reflection in each of the 16 mirrors?

• Stand directly in front of the mirror arrangement. What do you see in each mirror?
• Now slowly walk backwards. How do your reflections change?
• Is there a point at which you can see the same image in each mirror?

In the 19th century, a new method of mirror production was introduced. This made mirrors affordable for the wider population. Instead of tin amalgam, which is highly toxic due to the mercury it contains, glass was coated with a mixture of silver nitrate and glucose. A method that is still used today for Christmas baubles.
